FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  • Clinical Support:
    • Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and explaining procedures.
    • Assist healthcare professionals during medical examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
    • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and conduct in-office diagnostic procedures.
    • Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain medication inventory.
    • Remove sutures, change dressings, and provide basic wound care under the supervision of healthcare providers.
    • Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care instructions.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical charts.
    • Manage patient flow by coordinating referrals, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls, manage correspondence, and assist in billing and coding processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education and Certification:

    • Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program or relevant healthcare training.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
    • Proficiency in taking accurate vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing basic medical tests.
    • Familiarity with medical billing and coding procedures, insurance verification, and electronic health record systems.
