FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Environmental Impact Assessment:
    • Conduct environmental impact assessments to identify potential effects of projects on the natural surroundings.
    • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize adverse impacts.
  2. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
    • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for projects from relevant authorities.
  3. Pollution Control and Prevention:
    • Design and implement pollution control measures to reduce or eliminate the release of pollutants.
    • Monitor emissions and wastewater to maintain environmental compliance.
  4. Waste Management:
    • Develop waste management plans and systems to handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste responsibly.
    • Promote recycling and sustainable waste disposal practices.
  5. Water Resource Management:
    • Design water resource management systems for clean water supply, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment.
    • Assess water quality and implement solutions to protect water sources.
  6. Site Remediation:
    • Plan and execute environmental site remediation projects to clean up contaminated areas.
    • Monitor and evaluate the progress of remediation efforts.
  7. Sustainability and Conservation:
    • Promote sustainability initiatives and conservation practices within projects.
    • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and resource conservation.
  8. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including environmental impact reports, compliance records, and project documentation.
    • Provide clear and comprehensive documentation for project stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering with an environmental focus, or a related field (Master’s degree may be preferred for more senior roles).
  • Professional licensure as an environmental engineer, where required.
  • Proven experience in environmental engineering, regulatory compliance, and environmental impact assessment.
  • Proficiency in environmental modeling software, regulatory requirements, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with project teams and regulatory agencies.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to precision and quality.
  • Knowledge of environmental engineering principles, industry standards, and sustainability practices.
