FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Patient Triage:

    • Prioritize patient care based on the severity of symptoms.
  2. Clinical Assessment:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute illnesses or injuries.
    • Gather medical histories and perform physical examinations.
  3. Minor Procedures:
    • Perform minor medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, and splinting.
    • Administer injections and vaccinations as needed.
  4. Diagnostic Testing:
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory tests, and point-of-care testing.
    • Rapidly assess and communicate test results to patients.
  5. Patient Education:
    • Educate patients on their diagnoses, treatment plans, and medications.
    • Provide guidance on self-care and follow-up instructions.
  6. Emergency Response:
    • Respond to medical emergencies within the scope of urgent care settings.
    • Coordinate with emergency medical services as necessary.
  7. Medication Administration:
    • Administer medications as prescribed, including oral, injectable, and intravenous medications.

  8. Collaboration with Providers:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Urgent care or emergency nursing experience is beneficial.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to staying updated on urgent care protocols and best practices.
