SUMMARY:
An Urgent Care Nurse is a registered nurse who works in urgent care settings, providing immediate and unscheduled healthcare services for patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent medical concerns. FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

- Clinical Assessment:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with acute illnesses or injuries.
- Gather medical histories and perform physical examinations.
- Minor Procedures:
- Perform minor medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, and splinting.
- Administer injections and vaccinations as needed.
- Diagnostic Testing:
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory tests, and point-of-care testing.

- Emergency Response:

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Urgent care or emergency nursing experience is beneficial.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to staying updated on urgent care protocols and best practices.
