SUMMARY:

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for processing a variety of mortgage loans. These loans include refinancing, home equity, home improvement, and auto loans. The job requires working with the client to understand their financial situation and determine what type of loan best suits them. The applicant will also be required to analyze each person’s credit history, income level, assets and liabilities in order to determine whether they qualify for a particular type of loan.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  • Processing applications for mortgages and conducting due diligence on clients and borrowers.
  • Collecting and processing information, including verifying contact information, verifying employment and income statements, verifying that the client has a sufficient down payment, reviewing any required documentation and submitting it to the Mortgage Bankers for review before approving or disapproving an application.
  • Processes loan applications and verifications.
  • Verifies credit and employment information.
  • Notifies the customer of loan application status and program eligibility.
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy on all aspects of the mortgage process.
  • File, track and enter documentation on the loan process.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist with loan processing.
  • Ensure that all documentation is submitted on time and in accordance with the guidelines established by the financial institution’s policy manual.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience of experience processing mortgages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written).
