SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the hiring, training and development of all employees. The manager oversees all aspects of employee relations and administers company policies. The Human Resources Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all legal compliance requirements are met in regard to compensation and benefits programs.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  • Establishing and maintaining employment policies and procedures that are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Managing recruitment efforts and ensuring that the company has a sufficient number of qualified applicants to fill job openings.
  • Managing employees’ compensation packages, including determining salary levels based on market data, performance evaluations, skill set requirements for each position, as well as employee tenure.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws regarding hiring processes such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations and Immigration Reform Control Act requirements.
  • Overseeing employee benefits packages such as health insurance coverage and retirement plans.
  • Presenting information about benefits, compensation and other employment matters to management and employees.
  • Creating and implementing employee training programs.
  • Developing performance evaluations and career development plans for employees.
  • Recruiting new hires.
  • Providing coaching, counseling and mentoring opportunities for workers.
  • Reviewing employee complaints or concerns regarding harassment or discrimination issues.
  • Providing guidance on legal issues related to employment matters such as labor law compliance requirements or regulations related to hours worked per week (i.e., overtime pay).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in human resources management.
  • Must be able to develop strong relationships with executives, managers, and individual employees.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Must be flexible and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to work without direction.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), HRIS, ATS, Google Docs, Zoom, training programs, etc.
