SUMMARY:
An Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and leadership of a non-profit organization. This person is responsible for directing the staff of the organization, including financial and human resources, legal affairs, and community relationships. This position requires a high level of management skill and experience in helping to develop and implement plans for long-term success. Oversee all aspects of fundraising efforts, including grant writing and grant administration. Manage human resources functions like hiring, firing or assigning personnel to different departments within the organization. Oversees the day-to-day operations of an organization such as managing finances, event planning and logistics management.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:
- Develop and implement the budget, including recruitment of new donors and development of fundraising strategies for the organization.
- Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and workflows are in compliance with the organization’s legal and ethical obligations.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the organization’s mission, vision and values for making decisions about how he or she will implement those principles into their day-to-day activities.
- Manage the staff, including hiring, firing, compensation, and training.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the organization.
- Manage organization’s Board and committee meetings.
- Approval all contracts for services and vendors, etc.
- Managing staff including hiring new staff members, training them on their specific responsibilities within the organization, reviewing performance reports from these employees, providing feedback on performance issues raised by these reports and addressing any concerns raised by employees or volunteers about their performance levels or expectations.
- Build membership base, increase member engagement and cultivate a sense of community within the organization.
- Managing volunteers within the organization.
- Managing budgets including making sure they are realistic in terms of costs while being able to meet goals given by donors/sponsors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- At least five years of experience working as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in teams, to achieve goals and meet deadlines while maintaining high ethical standards at all times.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations without losing focus on the mission of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both employees, donors, board members, and stakeholders.
