An environmental manager is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to all environmental regulations and guidelines. The manager ensures that proper disposal procedures are followed, monitors progress on projects related to sustainability and pollution prevention, and makes sure employees understand their responsibility when it comes to conservation. This position requires a broad knowledge of environmental issues, as well as an ability to communicate clearly with both employees and external stakeholders.

  • Working with senior leadership to develop and execute short-term, mid-term and long-term strategies to achieve compliance goals.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the team including coordinating projects, setting goals, tracking progress, communicating with internal and external partners, identifying problems and solutions.
  • Ensuring that all compliance work performed by the team is carried out in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Identify and manage problems related to water quality, air pollution, and noise.
  • Develop plans for handling spills or other accidents that might damage the environment.
  • Maintaining an effective working relationship with external partners such as regulators, enforcement agencies and consultants on behalf of the company.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental issues.
  • Maintain and update the company’s environmental policy by ensuring that all employees are aware of it and adhere to its guidelines.
  • Create and distribute a monthly report detailing company compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the development of new products to ensure that they do not violate any environmental regulations or policies.


  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an environmental management position
  • A bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with common environmental management software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well independently as well as on a team
